Johns Gospel of the Kingdom

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.  (Joh 1:1-5)

  1. I am just curious why everyone that reads the first few sentences of the Gospel of John reads as if the word God is the subject when clearly the word WORD is the subject .. I always hear it read , In the beginning was the word ,and the word was with GOD , and the word was GOD . When it should read . In the beginning was the WORD , and the WORD was God , and the WORD was with God. This is substantiated in 1:14 where we are told , ” and the WORD became flesh and dwelt among men ” I believe this is one of the most misunderstood passages in te bible and one of the most important . Notice in 1:14 it does not say God became flesh , but the Word became flesh .This is a most profound passage , and it is not about the divinity of the Christ …. just sayin…..
