“So Mighty an Earthquake, and so Great.”
The former vials, and especially the 6th reaching “to the battle of that great day of God Almighty,” continue in operation and effect with this the last vial until the consummation.
And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done. And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great. And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath. (Rev 16:17-19)
“It is done,” the final vial of judgment is poured out, “And there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth.” In my mind this could only point to the forty years political machinations and wars that encompass World War I and World War II, inclusive, and the reshaping of the nations that proceeded from it. The “great city” here as before refers to Rome, the “great Babylon”, the seat of the Antichrist with its head wound during this era fully healed, so that “the cities of the nations fell” under its influence, because of the intrigues and corruptions of her shadow operatives in them, they are induced to do her bidding, until the day that the ten horns “shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.”[42] Perhaps referring to the day when they discover her intrigue and manipulations in them and the damage done of her wanton evils.

The notice of the tripartite division of the great city appearing, more than a century after the initial judgment on the seat of the Beast, when its 1260 year overt reign came to an end with its near deadly head wound, followed by that wound being healed just evidenced, is described as “was and is not, yet is,” and as such is revived in a tripartite form. And through the intrigue and corrupting power of that form, the “cities of the nations fell.” The first of its divisions being of course that seven hilled city where its blasphemous head has had its apostate religious seat from its inception; and some think because of its revealed money power, by which it “causeth all,.. to receive a mark… And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark,”[43] its second city would be the financial capital of the world, the City State of London;[44] And his third city in its Empire of the City, Washington D.C., the capital of the “dragon speaking” horn division of the Seventh or Two Horned Earth Beast of Rev. 13, with its power to do that which seemed miraculous, as well as construct an Image of the Sea Beast, through which he may vicariously and covertly rule the world. F. Tupper Saussy reports in his book, Rulers of Evil: “What? American government Roman Catholic from the beginning? Consider: the land known today as the District of Columbia bore the name “Rome” in 1663 property records; and the branch of the Potomac River that bordered “Rome” on the south was called “Tiber.” This information was reported in the 1902 edition of the Catholic Encyclopedia’s article on Daniel Carroll. The article, specifically declaring itself “of interest to Catholics” in the 1902 edition, was deleted from the New Catholic Encyclopedia (1967). Saussy adds, “In 1790, President George Washington, a Protestant, appointed Congressman Carroll to head a commission of three men to select land for the “federal city” called for in the Constitution. Of all places, the commission chose “Rome,” which at the time consisted of four farms, one of which belonged to… Daniel Carroll. It was upon Carroll’s farm that the new government chose to erect its most important building, the Capitol.”

Chinese-Brokered Deal Upends Mideast Diplomacy and Challenges U.S.
The agreement negotiated in Beijing to restore relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran signaled at least a temporary reordering of the usual alliances and rivalries, with Washington left on the sidelines.
WASHINGTON — Finally, there is a peace deal of sorts in the Middle East. Not between Israel and the Arabs, but between Saudi Arabia and Iran, which have been at each other’s throats for decades. And brokered not by the United States but by China.
This is among the topsiest and turviest of developments anyone could have imagined, a shift that left heads spinning in capitals around the globe. Alliances and rivalries that have governed diplomacy for generations have, for the moment at least, been upended.
The Americans, who have been the central actors in the Middle East for the past three-quarters of a century, almost always the ones in the room where it happened, now find themselves on the sidelines during a moment of significant change. The Chinese, who for years played only a secondary role in the region, have suddenly transformed themselves into the new power player. And the Israelis, who have been courting the Saudis against their mutual adversaries in Tehran, now wonder where it leaves them.
“There is no way around it — this is a big deal,” said Amy Hawthorne, deputy director for research at the Project on Middle East Democracy, a nonprofit group in Washington. “Yes, the United States could not have brokered such a deal right now with Iran specifically, since we have no relations. But in a larger sense, China’s prestigious accomplishment vaults it into a new league diplomatically and outshines anything the U.S. has been able to achieve in the region since Biden came to office.” [45]
Events as they have been unfolding seem to indicate a meaning to “the Kings of the East” unforeseen at the time of the 5th Edition of this great work. This great Atheistic power here displayed, in a world that is increasingly becoming more atheistic in every quarter, makes it much more tenable that the next Great War will be the one that aligns “the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.” We can only hope and pray that there will not be an intervening World War III.
As to the three frog like spirits of our opening passage (vial six), as it extends until the consummation, we reserve that exposition and related symbols for the closing chapter of this Volume.
