500 years ago the Protest-ant Reformers recognized the Roman Catholic Church as the 2 Thess. 2 foretold Great Apostasy, and astonishingly these church fathers identified the Papacy as the very seat of the Antichrist, the The Man of Sin. To this day a greater Apostasy has still not risen up! This same one has only become Greater!
About this same time a Counter Reformation Army, the Jesuit Order, was established, and they developed an End Time Antichrist hypothesis, to vindicate the Roman Catholic Church and the Papacy, and to squash the Protest against them. They have been very successful.
Today they call themselves Evangelicals and know not why they are Protestants, for they protest nothing that the Reformers discovered. Instead they scoff at the very idea that the Pope may be the very Antichrist, and the Roman Catholic Church be that foretold Great Apostasy as they wait for a Rapture Fantasy, a Delusion developed on the foundation laid by the Jesuit Ribera 500 years ago! Yes, they have been successful, beyond their wildest dreams!
