Col 2:16-17 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath: (17) Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body of Christ. If I understand this correctly, the things before the colon were the shadow, but Christ is the embodiment (or substance of what was a shadow). The shadow pointed to Christ. He is the fulfillment of the law. We do not have license to judge on those things thereby. If so, then we are not to judge nor allow ourselves to be judged in our keeping of these lesser commandments, or “shadow of things to come.” Continue reading What Moonth is it? – Sabbath Rest→

Once upon a time, God made a promise to a faithful family known as the Rechabites. He said there would be at least one believer among their descendants forever. Historians have lost track of the Rechabites. We do not know where that one believer may be living today. But we do know about God’s remarkable faithfulness to a group of living families which traces its Christian heritage back to the days of the apostles. Known as Waldensians, they are the only group of families whose Christian legacy appears to span the entire 20 centuries since the apostles. I recently spoke to a living Waldensian by phone. None are so hopelessly enslaved, as those who falsely believe they are free. The truth has been kept from the depth of their minds by masters who rule them with lies. They feed them on falsehoods till wrong looks like right in their eyes.

Let every soul be subject to the Higher Power… With this statement it is recognized that no mortal man can be absolutely sovereign. But the bible does teach us to attain the highest level of sovereignty that we can. As a matter of fact it is a requirement for those who walk in the Spirit. “But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.” (1Co 2:15) This is the position that can only be attained by one who exercises biblical sovereignty. Within hours of posting the video on the internet this was the first comment, “We are supposed to be Christians who love each other. The thingthat amazes me about all of you preachers and teachers is how arrogant some of you are. Each one of you thinks you are right. Maybe all of you are wrong. Maybe some of you are right. Maybe all of you are right in some way. How can you not humble yourselves and agree that you are all trying to figure this out? You are all going to be surprised when you stand before the King and find out just how little you do know.” This comment is really a very clever ad hominem attack. Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego were thrown into the fire because they would not bow to an Idol (a fictitious entity). Everyone else who bowed did so under threat and duress of being thrown into that same fire. The children of Israel, the Hebrew people constantly fell into idol worship — the contemporary Christian might wonder how they could have been so stupid as to bow to fictitious entities made of wood, stone or metal! Peter and the other Apostles were thrown into prison for preaching in Messiah’s name, they did not ask the authorities what they were legally permitted to say, rather Peter proclaimed, “We must Obey God rather than men.” Likewise the early Church suffered great persecution because they would simply not bow to the lordship of Caesar.
